restovincent1.jpg Our CEO was telling lots of stories about this famous restaurant in Brussels for the past few years. So we decided to go and have a cool dinner while in Brussels for the ESE. Our reservation was made for 19:00 for 11 persons and we had 3 guests coming over to join us within the 11, but they got late by train.

I was the first to arrive at 19:05 sharp, and when asked about our table, the guy looks at me and said: “you are late and you are alone”, i replied, yes we are late for 5 minutes because we were at the exhibition that closes @ 18:00 and the traffic and my colleagues are following me, they will be here in 5 minutes, but the guy was not really happy and could see it clearly.

steakvincent1.jpg Then my colleagues arrived and we were 7 at table, the 4 missing were just around the corner and when they arrived it was around 19:30, so we got the menus and wanted to order some starters but were informed that we can not as we got late to the table and they need us to finish before 21:00 as they are receiving a large group of 150 people. So we had to go directly to the main course, and after waiting like 40 minutes, i got this “famous” dish while i was expecting to see something extraordinary but it was not the case at all.

I also need to mention about the bad mood and character of the waiters because we arrived few minutes late to our table and everytime we wanted to order a drink or ask for something, we were hit by that “look”.

To make the long story short, when in Brussels, never go to Restaurant Vincent because NO GOOD FOOD & NO GOOD MOOD and my humble rating for this restaurant would be A BIG ZERO, Sorry Chafic !!!

While we were exhibiting at the ESE 2008 in Brussels, a group of Greenpeace activist walked in the show wearing like the rest of us, around 200 of them, and blocked all the stands that were selling tuna fish. Our neighbours, a spanish company called “Ricardo Fuentes E Hijos” were one of their major target, more than 30 activists blocked the stand and screwed eveything upside down because this company was selling tuna from the Mediterranean.

All this started around 10:30, while the police arrived around 13:30 and had to deal with them. The activists also took control of the exhibition braodcasting room, and kept on sending their promotional messages inside all halls till the last one was taken away by the police.

Our booth was hurt because all visitors were really interested in what is going on with our neighbours, then when the police arrived, they blocked all around our stand with their red tape in order to take the activists away.

I have seen Greenpeace activists all my life on TV, but never in real life and few meters away from me. Check the news on their website.

The below 2 videos will show you exactly what happened, the first one is how they started their attack, then when the police arrived to take them away.
